A day in the life.

I woke up feeling creative this morning. I decided I would take pictures of our normal day-to-day routines and activities and blog about it. Why not, right? It might be fun to look back and remember too.

In the mornings, after Cooper wakes up we have a bottle. Then we usually watch "The Price is Right" (depending on what time he wakes up) and we roll around on the floor and play with Daisy. We're still trying hard to crawl!

Daisy can still run away from him.... for now.

Time for a diaper change! Lately Cooper haaaates having his clothes taken off or put on. I don't know what it is. He seems pretty happy there though....

I started feeling "artsy" and I realized I haven't taken any pictures of Cooper's nursery with my new camera. A few seconds went buy and I look over to see this....
Ah!!! Ok, Cooper has figured out how to roll off the side of the changing table. *noted* I'm just glad he didn't fall!

Last but not least, the eye drops. He doesn't like the eye drops either, but he does pretty well with them. He doesn't cry or fuss about it like he used to.

Cooper wasn't taking a very good nap in the afternoon, so we decided to grab some lunch with daddy. I forgot my camera :( So, no pictures of that. When we got home from lunch Cooper decided to take a loooooong nap (2 1/2 hours). While Cooper was napping.... daddy came home from work!

Then it was dinner time for Cooper...

I caught that picture JUST as Cooper grabbed the spoon and got carrots all over his hands. haha.

Daddy helped me after that! He doesn't keep Cooper's face as clean as I try to... haha. Cooper doesn't care though. Nom nom nom nom.....

Daisy was patiently waiting for her turn to have some carrots.

We decided to 'hit the town' (<-- lol) as a family tonight so we went to BRU and the mall. Whoot. :-P

Is it time to think about Halloween already?! They had cute little costumes out at BRU. I found an adorable bumble bee for Cooper...
Philip said, "No - he needs to be something manly like a fire fighter!" (They had a fire fighter costume there too) hahaha. Cooper looks so tiny in that giant basket!

Then we headed out to the mall. I saw on TV Macy's was having a sale on their single-serving coffee makers. I've used this certain kind several times and I wanted to go buy one while they were on sale (I also have a gift card for $30!) I thought they might be like $50 or $60.... no. They were $169 ON SALE. Regularly $229 or something. Ridiculous. I was bummed, but oh well.

We were hungry, but knew Cooper wouldn't last in a restaurant... so we went to the food court and got chinese.

Cooper was getting frustrated that we were eating and he wasn't. I broke his puffs in half and put them on his stroller tray for him to pick up and eat. Well, he hasn't really gotten all that down yet. He spent the whole time while we were eating either attempting to get them into his mouth (and failing) or pushing them on the floor. lol

We were walked around the mall and passed the new LEGO store. Philip was has been dying to go inside... so we did :) Philip loved lego's as a kid and wanted to show Cooper around the store. Philip and I talked about how much fun it's going to be when Cooper is a little older and can really enjoy stuff like that. We're excited to take him fun places.

We got home just in time for Cooper's bedtime! He's getting so good at going to bed when it's time.

That was a day in our life ;-)

No more boobie for Coopie

I've officially started giving Cooper formula.... for many reasons:

1) Nipple chomping. Need I say more?

2) My supply was dropping. Yeah yeah I could have pumped to build it back up... but that would have taken who knows how long and it's a big PITA.

3) He wasn't getting full from breast milk so I was giving him more solids than he needed... which don't have the nutrients an 8 month old needs.

We're still breastfeeding at night before bed. I've actually still been feeding him the tiny amount I have during the day and then giving him a bottle. He does really well with that... although I don't know if it's the best thing to be doing. I don't want him to get confused.

I started this mid-day yesterday. I'm feeling slight remorse already. Today I feel better. I've heard women talk about having breastfeeding guilt (if they aren't BFing or can't/never could) but I've never experienced it. I shouldn't feel guilty because I BFed that kid for 8 months! That's a long time! I should be proud of myself. I know I *could* have continued and I think that's the problem I'm having. I kind of chose to formula feed out of convenience for myself. Also, my mom and dad get home from their vacation tomorrow and I know my mom won't be too happy with my decision. She's a self proclaimed breastfeeding snob.

He's getting fed, he's happy, I'm happy. That's what matters.

I am seriously about to move out of my house to get away from the damn fruit flies.

Look what I bought today:

I have been eyeballing these shoes every time I go into Dillards for the past 2 months. I couldn't justify the $89.00 to buy them, so I always pass them by. Today, they were $59.99 PLUS 30% off AND I had a gift card. BAM! They're in my closet :-D I love buying shoes. Especially when I wait for the sale.

This is a purely superficial post.

*Whew*

We just got home from the lake. It's a lot of work going to the lake, and we didn't even have Cooper! We had a lot of fun though. We drove down with Jill and Jason, Abby and Riley met us down there.

We made a fire Friday night and cooked rubbery burgers. lol. They were nasty as hell. We grilled Zucchini and that was the best part of the meal for sure. I intended to go into Eufaula for "Whole Hog" <-- totally a country, hick festival/carnival... but it was pretty late by the time we got done cooking and cleaning up dinner. Saturday we went out on the boat all day. It was great. We laid out, rode the jet skis, drank some malibu, laid out more... drank more... Did I mention we laid out?! Yeah. I look like a freaking lobster today. I was stupid... but hopefully this sunburn will turn into a tan and not just peel off.

Cooper actually acted excited to see us when we picked him up from Oma's. Normally he whines and grunts when we pick him up because he wants me to hold him... but today he shreaked with excitement. :) It was great to see him. We were gone for two nights, which is the longest since he was born.

Philip is working days this week, but he's working 12 hours shifts monday, tuesday, wednesday, friday, saturday, sunday and monday. Yeah. It is going to suck... but at least he'll be home at night instead of gone all night. Ugggggh.

Favorite WW obsession this week: Grilled zucchini!!
