In 2 short years....

.....this happens.

Enjoy the moments, people. They go quickly.

I'm cherishing every moment CD and I have together while he still thinks I'm cool to hang out with.
It's pretty hard to me to resist - "Mama. Sit, play, please."

and a couple more because he's so goofy.

My boy

All of these faces appeared in about a 30 minute period. To say the kid is expressive is an understatement.

10 fun facts about CD:

1. Every night before bed, he has to run up and down the hall like Buzz Lightyear, which includes crashing frequently and stopping to push the button on his chest to open his wings. Oh, and daddy MUST video it on his phone.
2. As mommy's belly gets bigger he points to it and says, "awww... baby!..."
3. Daddy is a way better tooth brusher than mommy
4. He likes to count like this, "One, two, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!" and say ABC's "A,B,C,D,A,B,C,A,B,C,D,A,B,C...."
5. His favorite food is toast, cheese or bananas.
6. He can spot Buzz or Elmo from a mile away. There will be a tiny little Elmo logo on a diaper box across the store and he says, "Elmo!!! Elmo!!!"
7. His favorite song, right now, is "The Time (Dirty Bit)" by the Black Eyed Peas. He likes to dance to it and sing along.
8. When we get out of the car he always says, "Mommy. Parking Lot. Hand" [meaning he has to hold my hand because we're in the parking lot :)]
9. When he gets excited he says "Woop, woop!" and raises the roof with one hand. lol. Cracks me up every time.
10. He loves to remind us to pray before our meals, if we forget. He folds his hands and closes his eyes and always says "AaaaaaaaaaaaMEN!"

Probably my favorite recipe ever.

I have mentioned this recipe in my blog previously, but I love it so much I thought it was worth mentioning again. I never get tired of eating it!

Mexican Meatloaf

1 spray(s) cooking spray
1/2 pound(s) raw extra lean ground beef
1/2 pound(s) lean ground turkey, breast
2 large egg white(s)
2 oz cornbread stuffing dry mix, (about 1 cup)
1 medium onion(s), chopped
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
4 oz canned green chili peppers, diced
8 oz canned enchilada sauce

Preheat oven to 375°F. Coat a broiler pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix beef, turkey, egg whites, stuffing mix, onion, chili powder, cumin, chilies and half of enchilada sauce together. Shape into an oval with your hands and place on prepared broiler pan.

Cook for 1 hour, top with remaining enchilada sauce and bake for 5 minutes more. Slice into 6 pieces and serve. 3 points per serving (old WW points, not points plus)

And I just had to share this picture of CD eating broccoli. I was so happy with him! I didn't have to bribe him to eat it or anything ;)

Pregnant Mama meet WODs.

I've been trying to get back into some WODs lately. So far things have been great. I feel great and nothing has been too painful or difficult.

Last week I did:
3 rounds -
7 OH squats (45#)
7 Push Press (45#)
7 Front Squats (45#)

3 rounds -
7 ring dips
7 burpees
15 squats
(that one crippled me the next day)

I did 2 other WODs but now I can't remember what they were... pregnancy brain.

I'm just making these WODs up as I go, but I'm thinking of modifying the main site WODs and starting to do those. Making them up myself is challenging!

Today I set out to finish this:

3 rounds:
400m walk (no more running for me, it's getting too uncomfortable)
20 med ball sit ups
20 KB swings (25#)

About halfway through I had a really sharp pain in the lower left part of my uterus. I quit working out, stood there and drank water for about 10 minutes. The pain didn't stop so I called it quits in the middle of the WOD. I really didn't want to... but I knew it was best. My plan from the beginning has been to only do what feels comfortable and quit when it feels uncomfortable.

It's really tough for me to workout and not give it 100%. Pregnancy exercise is definitely way different than pre-pregnancy. But, I'm sticking with it as long as I can!

19 weeks 4 days

BTW, I do not feel like I look this pregnant in person. I'm still waiting to "pop." Not sure why the pictures make me look bigger than I actually look.

Pregnancy: 19 weeks 4 days

Baby's Size: Baby is the size of an heirloom tomato. 6 inches and weighs about 8.5 ounces!

Weight Gain: Eesh. I'll admit it's not good... up 15 pounds. I blame the scale though. They stick me on a different scale every time I go in. First I was up 8 then down 4 then up 11?! Something isn't right about that.

Maternity Clothes: No maternity clothes yet! It's getting close though... I'm hoping I can make my current jeans work until it's warm enough for me to live in sundresses and flip flops :)

Sleep: I'm sleeping wonderfully! Still sleeping on my back with no problem.

Gender:  We find out THURSDAY!!! I'm feelin' boy this week.

Name: For a boy we like Grayson, Parker and Bennett. Middle name will be Daniel (Philip's middle name)

Feeling: I'm feeling like my organs are being squished. There are moments where it feels like I can literally feel my stomach and intestines being pushed upward. Yucky, huh?

Health: I have been purposefully cutting out soda and drinking a lot more water. I feel like I'm craving water most days. It's pretty easy for me to get down 64oz so I've been shooting for closer to 100oz. That's a bummer when your bladder is the size of a pea.

Heartbeat: Was 135-140 around 17 weeks. An old wives tale suggests a boy's heartbeat is lower than 160 while a girl's heartbeat is always higher than 160. We'll see! (That wasn't true for CD btw, his was always in the 160's) My midwife had a hard time finding this baby's HB again at my appointment. I was hoping she wouldn't find it and I could get another ultrasound, but no such luck.

Movement: Lots of movement! I feel him/her everyday!

Baby Center Update: What baby looks like at 19 weeks. (I like how this picture makes the baby look like its practicing yoga in there)

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
